Homemade uses of round elastic bands

Having a small roll of round elastic band at home can get us out of a lot of trouble. This rubber band can be cut to the desired length and tied with a strong double knot so that it does not open again. These are some of the uses that can be given to these rubbers:

  1. Close packages. In the pantries we have a multitude of packages that end up being opened, but of which not all the content is used: pasta, legumes, sugar, salt and a long etcetera. With the rubber bands these packages can be closed and be perfectly sealed so that the products retain all their qualities.

They have advantages over the tweezers since it is not necessary to bend the package to fit them, but the rubber presses it and adapts it so that the seal is very good.

  1. Prevent kitchen boards from slipping. If we place a couple of rubber bands on each side of a wooden board used in the kitchen, we can use it to serve a tray on the table, protecting it from the heat and preventing the tray from slipping off the sides.

The boards are used in many homes to serve food, but due to their smooth finish they are slippery and treacherous and it can be very dangerous if a tray with very hot food ends up falling. With the rubber bands, there is no such danger because they stop the tray and do not allow it to slide accidentally.

  1. To tie the hair. It is one of the classic uses of these gums. Normally, they are bought in colors and with decorations, but if you want to tie your hair or that of a girl and you do not have decorated rubber bands, the round ones are perfect for this because they do not tangle the hair or pull.

The round elastic can also be bought in different shades, so you can make very nice hair ties at home with the decorations that each person prefers or you can choose to use elastics of a color similar to the hair to hide the elastic with a nice scarf. , for instance.

  1. Prevent objects from being scattered. If you have a drawer with cutlery that you do not use frequently, it may happen to you that when you open it and close it, the pieces move and you find them mixed and scattered with other things. A good way to keep your cutlery well organized without having to use boxes or organizers is to tie all identical cutlery together with rubber bands. Thus, you will always have each little pile at hand and you will not lose anything.
